{"id":20493,"date":"2026-08-25T11:17:39","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T09:17:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cps.es\/improvement-and-expansion-of-drinking-water-and-sanitation-services-in-the-navita-de-betania-community\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T11:27:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T09:27:58","slug":"improvement-and-expansion-of-drinking-water-and-sanitation-services-in-the-navita-de-betania-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cps.es\/en\/improvement-and-expansion-of-drinking-water-and-sanitation-services-in-the-navita-de-betania-community\/","title":{"rendered":"Improvement and Expansion of Drinking Water and Sanitation Services in the Navita de Betania Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/cps.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/comunidad-nativa-de-betania-peru.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20489\" style=\"width:565px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cps.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/comunidad-nativa-de-betania-peru.jpg 800w, https:\/\/cps.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/comunidad-nativa-de-betania-peru-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cps.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/comunidad-nativa-de-betania-peru-650x488.jpg 650w, https:\/\/cps.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/comunidad-nativa-de-betania-peru-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CPS Peru<\/strong>, as part of a consortium, is overseeing the project to <strong>improve and expand the drinking water and wastewater disposal services<\/strong> in the <strong>Betania Indigenous Community<\/strong>, in the R\u00edo Tambo District, Satipo Province, Jun\u00edn Department.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is part of the initiatives promoted by the Government of Peru, through the National Rural Sanitation Program (PNSR) and the Comprehensive Rural Water and Sanitation Program (PIASAR), aimed at reducing gaps in access to basic drinking water and sanitation services in the country\u2019s rural areas, and is funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is being carried out in the <strong>Betania Indigenous Community<\/strong>, which has a population of more than 750 residents living in 279 homes, and aims to improve and expand drinking water and sanitation services in response to identified limitations in water quality, household installation coverage, and the sanitary management of excreta. Through this project, we hope to help <strong>reduce waterborne diseases<\/strong> in the community. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our responsibilities include monitoring, supervising, and conducting technical inspections of the construction work; providing ongoing support for field activities; verifying construction processes; and tracking the progress of the various components of the project.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overseeing this project also presents a unique technical and logistical challenge due to the <strong>location<\/strong> and <strong>accessibility<\/strong> of the Betania Indigenous Community, which is primarily accessible by <strong>water<\/strong> via the <strong>Tambo River<\/strong>.
