A significant portion of the effort to reduce emissions from maritime transport begins on land: at the docks and terminals where ships dock and in the energy used by ports.<\/p>\n\n

These are the topics that will be addressed at the Net-Zero MAR 2026 Conference<\/strong>, which will be held November 11\u201313 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife<\/strong> and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria<\/strong>, and which we will be attending.<\/p>\n\n

The annual conference of the Net-Zero MAR Alliance, a nonprofit association dedicated to the decarbonization and electrification of the maritime\u2014will feature the work of its thematic panels on shore power supply (OPS), ships at sea, renewable energy in ports, green corridors, and terminals, and will round out the conference with technical visits to projects already underway on both islands.<\/p>\n\n

From CPS<\/a><\/strong> , Juan A. Boix Fayos<\/strong>, director of the Department of Installations and ITS<\/strong><\/a> , and Ana Guirado Navarro<\/strong>, a team member, who will speak on November 13 in Las Palmas, as part of the session dedicated to renewable energy developments in ports, to present the analysis and mapping of renewable energy generation installations in the Spanish Port System that <\/strong>we have developed for the Net-Zero MAR Alliance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The study identifies, port by port, existing and planned installations for the 2026\u20132035 period in technologies such as solar photovoltaics, onshore and offshore wind, among others, including their location, capacity, estimated output, and project status, and compiles this information into a georeferenced web viewer.<\/p>\n\n

The conference will allow us to share these results with port authorities and companies in the sector.<\/p>\n\n
