Valencia Provincial Council's Road Network Gauging Plan
CPS developed mobility planning, analysis and monitoring services for the road network of the Diputación de Valencia.. The strategic objective of the project was to obtain accurate Average Daily Intensity (ADI) and the analysis of traffic variables that allow to base planning, conservation and operation decisions of the provincial infrastructure under objective criteria of real demand.
The service manages a discretized road network with 358 traffic operating on a technical infrastructure that includes 37 fixed stations, with 37 fixed stations equipped with electromagnetic loops, as well as portable stations using pneumatic technology..
The work was structured in four categories of stations (permanent, primary, secondary and coverage) whose exhaustive programming allows the application of seasonality and holiday coefficients to characterize the mobility cycles throughout the provincial territory.
Actions ranged from critical data analysis and maintenance of the Aforos DIVAL 2.0 application to the performance of microsimulation studies to evaluate alternatives at critical junctions and road safety for vulnerable road users..
The project also included the technological modernization of the network through the installation of new detectors and the delivery of an annual Logbook with detailed traffic maps..
