The Alberto Tortajada Public School of Special Education in Algemesí receives the Passivhaus certification.

Last Thursday was held the official delivery of the certificate and plaque of compliance with the Passivhaus Standard to the City Council of Algemesí for the certification of the Public School of Special Education Alberto Tortajada. The event formalized the recognition granted by the Passivhaus Institut through the certifying company Energiehaus, based in Barcelona, confirming that the center meets the demanding requirements of this international standard of energy efficiency.
CPS in UTE with the architect Pepe Font were responsible for the design, management and supervision of the works of the center, as well as the accompaniment during the processing of the Passivhaus certification process. The 3,031.26 m² building, developed on a single cloister-type floor, incorporates a completely airtight envelope with continuous insulation around its entire perimeter, including the foundation slab, together with mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery that guarantee indoor comfort and air quality.
With this certification, CEE Alberto Tortajada becomes the first public school in Spain to obtain Passivhaus certification, a milestone that demonstrates the feasibility of applying the highest standards of sustainability and energy efficiency in inclusive educational infrastructures.
