Annual Traffic Count and Analysis Plans for 2026–2028

CPS will be responsible for preparing the annual traffic volume estimates and traffic analysis for the Valencia Provincial Council ’s road network for the 2026–2028 period.

The purpose of this project is to determine the volume of traffic on the provincial road network by conducting traffic counts at designated sections, performing desk analyses, and preparing traffic reports and studies. To this end, the 39 fixed traffic counting stations, equipped with magnetic induction loops, will be used, in addition to the 32 portable traffic counting devices. Key tasks include establishing and implementing the annual Traffic Count Plan, conducting specific traffic studies at the request of the Provincial Council, and maintaining and updating the traffic count management software.

These studies provide the Average Daily Traffic Volume (ADTV) for each section of the network, as well as other parameters such as the percentage of heavy vehicles, motorcycle traffic volume, and traffic flow speed. This information is essential for the Provincial Council of Valencia to plan, maintain, and manage its road network using up-to-date technical criteria.
