Award of construction management for the improvement of the berthing facilities at dock 14 of the port of Alicante.

CPS, in a joint venture with the company INGEOMAR, has been awarded the contract for the Construction Management and Health and Safety Coordination of the work “Improvement of bollards and defenses of the berthing facilities of Pier 14 of the port of Alicante” for a period of 6 months.

The objective of the works is to allow the expansion of commercial passenger use along Pier 14 and to make the existing system of fenders and bollards compatible with the operation of the cruise fleet planned by the Port Authority.

The works are located in the SW section of the outer breakwater, or Levante breakwater, and cover an area of 380 m in length and a width varying between 6.8 m and 15 m measured from the seawall. It includes the demolition of the current cantilever beam and the construction of a new one on pre-slab, with the installation of a system of anchored suspenders every 20m, renewing the current system of defenses and bollards. The works are completed with the dredging of the mooring front up to -8.85 m in section 1 and -10.40 m in section 2.
