The city of Pontevedra has established itself as a world reference in urban sustainability and mobility, thanks to a model that for more than three decades has been firmly committed to putting people at the center of the city’s design. Its transformation, based on the reduction of motorized traffic, the recovery of public space and the prioritization of walking and cycling, has recently been recognized as an international example of good practice in urban planning.

From CPS we especially value this type of initiatives, which show how mobility planning and urban design can become key tools to move towards more sustainable and humane cities. Our colleague Jesús Alba has recently shared his vision on this model and its application in the field of mobility and road safety in an interview published in Diario de Pontevedra.
