Electrical studies for CEMEX’s Technology Replication Center

CPS Mexico will carry out the Short Circuit and Protection Coordination studies for the project “Center for Technological Replicas, Veracruz”, promoted by CEMEX.
The center, with a total area of more than 5,400 m², includes four halls and two workshops, and will be used for technical work and the construction of detection antennas under the supervision of the Mexican Navy.
The tasks include an analysis of the complex’s electrical system, which includes: 13.8 kV main connection, 1,500 kVA transformer and five general distribution boards with protection switches.
With the information obtained, a short circuit study will be carried out, based on the one-line diagram provided by the client, evaluating up to five buses or key boards of the system. In addition, a protection coordination study will be performed, which will verify that the existing circuit breakers and panels are correctly sized to ensure safety in the event of electrical failures.
From CPS, we would like to thank CEMEX for the trust they have placed in us to carry out this important task.
