National Highway Traffic Model (NRTM)

CPS in joint venture, will carry out the National Road Traffic Model (MNTC) for the General Directorate of Roads of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda .

The main objective of the MNTC is to develop a macrosimulation model to reproduce the intensity of vehicles currently circulating on the State Road Network (RCE) and their levels of service.

The work, which will be carried out over 48 months, will be structured in two main phases:

  1. Phase 1: Traffic model development, calibration and validation

In this stage, socioeconomic, urban, geometric and mobility data will be collected to build a base model that represents the current traffic and allows estimating its future evolution. In addition, tools such as GPS data analysis, origin-destination matrices and econometric modeling will be integrated.

  1. Phase 2: Exploitation of the model

This phase will include maintaining the model, conducting detailed traffic studies, implementing planning scenarios, and training specialized technicians in its use.
