Reclamation and Closure of Mining Environmental Liabilities in Peru

CPS Peru continues to supervise the work being carried out by Activos Mineros S.A.C. in the province of Pallasca (Ancash), where the recovery and closing of the 33 high and very high risk mine environmental liabilities such as: mine clearing, tailings area, mine mouths, processing plant and camp infrastructure of the former mining unit at Pushaquilca.
The intervention includes the physical, chemical and hydrological stabilization of the site in order to rehabilitate the ecosystem and directly and indirectly benefit more than 4,400 inhabitants of the province of Pallasca in the highlands of Ancash. In addition, the project will allow the environmental recovery of more than 17 hectares.
