CPS to lead oversight of two major construction sites for 2019 Pan Am Games

CPS will oversee the construction of two of the five major infrastructures planned for the sporting event. According to the schedule, the supervisions will begin at the end of June 2018.

Lima and the XVIII Pan American Games

In October 2013, the city of Lima was chosen to host the XVIII Pan American Games and the Sixth Para Pan American Games in 2019. Thus, more than 10,000 athletes and coaches from 41 countries and delegations will gather in Lima between July and August 2019 to compete in more than 60 sports disciplines.

For the proper development of the competition, the Organizing Committee planned the construction of five main infrastructures, two of which are: the Andrés Avelino Cáceres Sports Complex in Villa María del Triunfo, and the Athletes’ Village in Villa el Salvador.

Project supervision

The supervision of both works, awarded for 812,784.00 soles and 694,394.60 soles respectively, will be carried out in two phases. In the first phase, CPS, in its capacity as supervisor, will permanently accompany the construction company throughout the duration of the work. In the second phase of supervision, which begins after completion of the works, SCP’s support will be non-permanent, and it will only provide services for the detection and correction of defects in the project.

Villa María del Triunfo will be the venue for baseball, rugby, field hockey, softball, water polo, pelota vasca and paleta fronton, in an area that will cover a total of 215,489.48 square meters. On the other hand, the Athletes’ Village will house seven towers of between 20 and 19 stories, comprising a total of 1,096 apartments of between 69 and 75 square meters.
