New Public Transportation System in Andalusia

Board of Andalusia

CPS in joint venture, will carry out for the Regional Government of Andalusia the planning and development of the new regular public transport system for general use of passengers by road in Andalusia. This system, which is an essential element for sustainable and efficient mobility in the region, will be key to meet the transport needs of both urban and rural areas, promoting intermodality, accessibility and sustainability.

The project, which consists of two lots, will be carried out in the following areas:

  • Western Andalusia zone (Cadiz, Cordoba, Huelva and Seville)
  • Interprovincial lines, as well as possible relations between the western area and the eastern area (Almeria, Granada, Jaen and Malaga).

Among the tasks to be carried out is the reorganization of the concession map of public transport services, ensuring that the new mobility plans respond to the demands of equality, safety, efficiency and sustainability.

In addition, a diagnosis of the current situation of the system will be carried out in order to make proposals for improvements, with a focus on the optimization of resources and the creation of high demand or “rapid transit” axes that adapt to the new mobility requirements and low emission zones in metropolitan areas with more than 50,000 inhabitants.
