Airside and Landside Maintenance at Santa Marta Magdalena Airport
CPS Colombia was in charge of the maintenance work at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Santa Marta (ICAO: SKSM), located 16.5 km from the city of Santa Marta, in northern Colombia, at an altitude of 6 meters above sea level. The airport is located in the Aeromar neighborhood of the Pozos Colorados – Don Jaca community, from where it can be reached by the Troncal del Caribe highway. The objective of the activities carried out is to maintain the airport infrastructure in optimal conditions.
The work consisted of total air-side spraying to maintain a minimum height of vegetation, cleaning and improvement of the hydraulic system for the evacuation of rainwater, removal of plant matter, total cleaning of sockets, gutters, dissipators, culverts, inspection boxes, box coulvert, and canals. Maintenance was also performed on the runway and taxiway by applying EZ STREET for emergency repairs.
On the other hand, in the airport buildings on the landside (SEI Building and Administrative Building) various masonry maintenance activities were carried out through the installation of stucco and vinyl, maintenance of plaster, maintenance of the bathrooms, maintenance of the roof, maintenance of the hydraulic, sanitary and electrical networks.
