CPS, through the Framework Agreement with the University of Valencia, has carried out different projects in the different campuses of the University. The work performed includes the drafting of execution projects and construction management.

Replacement of the heating circuit of the Burjassot Campus Blocks.

The construction projects for the replacement of the heating circuit and radiators in seven blocks of buildings on the Burjassot Campus are being carried out.

Through a first award, the project for Blocks A, B, E, F and G is developed; and later the award of Blocks C and D is also obtained.

The refurbishment of the heating system begins at the entrance tap inside the building and includes the elements of the technical room on the first floors (heat exchanger, circulation pumps, expansion vessel, control panel), the new network of interior heating pipes and the replacement of the existing radiators with new cast iron radiators, which will be fitted with thermostatic valves. In those rooms where radiators cannot be installed due to laboratory furniture, radiant ceiling panels will be installed.

As required by the current RITE, a heat exchanger is provided at the entrance of each building to hydraulically separate the water circuit of each building from the main circuit that runs through the Campus galleries.

In collaboration with the architecture department, the drafting and construction management of the project for the renovation of the false ceiling and installation of the ventilation system on the fifth floor of the Faculty of Chemistry (Block F) of the Burjassot Campus.

Due to the renovation of the false ceiling of the plant corridor, the installations along the corridor are renewed. New LED luminaires, emergency lighting and presence detectors for corridor lighting were installed. Two new lighting circuits with group power supply are installed, starting from the existing group switchboard in the plant.

In addition, in order to comply with regulations, an exhaust fan is added to the chemistry department’s storage room, so that it can be activated when the teaching staff accesses the storage room to handle the chemical material cooler. In this way, any chemical gases that may have remained suspended in the air are extracted. This exhaust fan is placed parallel to an existing supply fan located on the roof of the warehouse.

Renovation of false ceiling and ventilation system on the 5th floor of Block F of the Burjassot Campus.

Construction of a rooftop installations bench in Block E of the Burjassot Campus.

In collaboration with the architecture department, the project for the refurbishment of the second floor and construction of a rooftop installations bench in Block E for the Analytical Chemistry Department of the Burjassot Campus was drafted. The second floor is used for teaching purposes. After the renovation, it will have offices, an administration area and three laboratory areas. Special attention should be paid to the facility requirements of each of the laboratories.

In terms of facilities, the following actions are contemplated:

  • Disassembly with recovery and stockpiling of the existing installations on the roof.
  • Dismantling of the existing installations on the second floor.
  • Renovation work on false ceilings and skirting boards on the second floor.
  • Sanitation installation, with polypropylene drains in the laboratories.
  • Plant plumbing installation, with drinking water network and deionized water network.
  • Low-voltage installation, with new general switchboard for the mains plant and group and secondary switchboards in the laboratories.
  • Air conditioning with a multi VRV system, with split indoor units in offices and administration and cassette units in the laboratories.
  • Ventilation in offices and administration, by means of an air treatment unit on the roof.
  • Ventilation in laboratories by means of air conditioners located on the roof. A new reversible water heat pump is planned for the building, from which the water coils of the air conditioners will be fed.
  • Air extraction from arms, fume cupboards, safety cabinets and acid/base cabinets.
  • Control of ventilation in the laboratories, so as not to generate excessive depression when the extraction equipment comes into operation.
  • Integration of the new air conditioning and ventilation installations into the existing building control system.
  • Installation of the following gases: vacuum, compressed air, nitrogen, pure air, CO2, hydrogen, acetylene, helium and argon.
  • Fire protection, with new fire detection and extinguishing system.
  • Special installations.
  • Photovoltaic installation.
  • On-deck assembly of the installations with disassembly and recovery.
