Physical and Operational Improvement of the Metropolitano's Plaza de Flores Station

CPS Peru carried out the conceptual study for the Physical and Operational Improvement of the Plaza de Flores Station of the Metropolitano de Lima. The objective of the project is to evaluate and propose the technical conditions for the physical and operational improvement of the Plaza de Flores Station, in order to identify the necessary investments to improve the Metropolitan BRT service, which is the High Capacity Segregated Corridor of Lima.

The Plaza de Flores Station is in a strategic location on the route as it is located south of the Vía Expresa Paseo de la República and on the border of three (3) districts of Lima, such as Miraflores, Surco and Barranco; districts with a lot of tourist attraction and high passenger demand.

The study evaluated the implementation of the bus overpass in the south-north direction and the conditioning of a half-turn yard with parking of buses; allowing the improvement of the service in rush hour, decreases the length of the displacement of the units and reduces the circulation of empty units, in addition to the reduction of the cost of the empty kilometer.
