Electric charging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles at the Port of Södertälje

The Swedish subsidiary of CPS, supported by the technical team of CPS Spain, carried out for Södertälje kommun, a feasibility study for the installation of a high-power electric charging station for heavy vehicles in the Port of Södertälje, an important logistic node located south of Stockholm, within its metropolitan area.
The study analyzed traffic flows at the access to the port and collected actual demand data through surveys of logistics operators in the area. The results confirmed the strategic potential of the location, determined by its connection to the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Corridor of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T) via the E4 and E20 routes, and the high concentration of industrial activity in the Stockholm metropolitan area.
Based on this analysis, three operational models have been proposed for the implementation of the recharging infrastructure, with flexibility and scalability criteria oriented towards the transition to emission-free freight transport.
This first project in the Nordic region is an important step in the consolidation of CPS’s international presence and its track record in sustainable mobility.
