Dredging of Golas in the Albufera of Valencia
CPS has drafted the project to improve the hydraulic capacity of the drainage channels from “La Sequiota” to the “Gola del Prellonet” and from the “Sequia de la Reina” to the “Gola del Perelló” of the Albufera of Valencia and is in the process of carrying out the corresponding works management.
The lake of the Albufera de València National Park has three channels or “gullies” through which it drains into the sea: the Gola de Pujol, the Gola del Perellonet and the Gola del Perelló, the latter two being subject to maintenance in order to maintain their hydraulic functionality and not to obstruct the flow of water.
An estimated dredging volume of 49,551 m3 in the Gola del Perellonet and 35,518 m3 in the Gola del Perelló. An additional dredging volume of 5,500 m3 is foreseen to dredge an additional 1.36 km of the Carrera de la Reina and 3,800 m3 to dredge 0.38 km of the Carrerot de Sueca. The estimate was made on the basis of the 2004 bathymetry, so a bathymetry of this area will have to be carried out during the works.
For this purpose, dredging works will be carried out with an amphibious dredge-retroexcavator located at a minimum distance of 10m from the lateral motte, and dredging will not be carried out at a minimum distance of 6m from the crown of the motte.
