New Provincial Police Station of the National Police in Cuenca
CPS for the Sociedad de Infraestructuras y Equipamientos Penitenciarios y de Seguridad del Estado (SIEPSE), the “Technical assistance to the construction management of the new Provincial Police Station of the National Police in Cuenca”. As part of the tasks to be performed, in addition to the control of the execution of the work itself, is the review of the project prior to the start of the work and the correction of errors in the existing documentation.
Current Status
The proposal consists of intervening in two existing buildings, which are in an incomplete state of construction, and these buildings are located on two plots of land located in an urban area of Ronda de San José in Cuenca.
The two existing buildings are similar in design, with a basement and first floor, followed by three additional floors. The ground floor is rectangular in shape and occupies approximately one third of the plot, while the upper floors have a much smaller volume.
Due to the stoppage of the construction works that took place 10 years ago, the buildings are partially constructed, with the foundations, structure and most of the facade enclosures completed, in addition to the waterproofing of the flat roofs of the first floor and the complete installation of the roofs of the third floors. The interior partitioning has also been started and part of the installation of the interior drains has been carried out.
The works for the new police station will be carried out on two plots of land totaling 6,630m2, while the total built area will be 6,470m2, divided into two buildings, with a basement, a first floor and two towers with four floors each. The building is intended to be a Nearly Zero Energy Consumption Building (NECB), meeting criteria such as environmental, social and economic sustainability; through natural lighting, the installation of LED lamps, as well as the use of renewable energy sources. During the entire project execution process, the CPS technical team monitors the progressive progress of the BIM As-built model.
The new building of the Provincial Police Station of the National Police in Cuenca has been awarded the “Green” certification by the Green Building Council Spain (GBCe), which guarantees that high sustainability standards have been implemented throughout its design and construction.
This certification recognizes the project’s commitment to the environment, highlighting aspects such as energy efficiency, responsible use of natural resources and minimization of environmental impact throughout the building’s life cycle.
